Abeokuta South APC Leaders Reach Consensus on Appointment Distribution

In an extraordinary meeting held on Saturday Feb 1st at the Local Government Council, the leaders of Abeokuta South chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) reached a consensus on the distribution of appointments across the 15 wards in the area.


The meeting, which was convened in response to the Governor's directive to submit names for appointments, aimed to determine the sharing formula for each ward. After deliberations, the leaders agreed on the following distribution:


       Wards and Appointments:

    - Ward 1: State Appointment

    - Ward 2: Supervisor

    - Ward 3: State Appointment

    - Ward 4: State Appointment

    - Ward 5: Special Advisor

    - Ward 6: Special Advisor

    - Ward 7: Supervisor

    - Ward 8: Supervisor

    - Ward 9: Supervisor

    - Ward 10: State Appointment

    - Ward 11: Special Advisor

    - Ward 12: Special Advisor and State Appointment

    - Ward 13: State Appointment

    - Ward 14: Supervisor

    - Ward 15: Two State Appointments


Additionally, the leaders allocated two state appointments to political groups that have recently joined the party. They emphasized that only names submitted and signed by the chairman would be considered, as they do not recognize any factions.


The leaders also directed all ward chairmen to convene immediate meetings to decide which names they intend to submit. This move is seen as a significant step towards promoting unity and cooperation within the party in Abeokuta South.


In attendance were the Chairman of the Local Government; Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez, the Commissioner for Rural Development; Hon. Mrs Olufemi Ilori, Former Speaker Ogun state House of Assembly; Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni, and other leaders in the party.

In addition, health insurance coverage was provided for commercial motorcycle riders (Okada operators) and elderly residents, further demonstrating the administration’s commitment to social welfare. Looking ahead, the council has approved and commenced the construction of a 1.3-kilometre road in Kuto, Abeokuta, as part of its ongoing infrastructure development drive.
