Hon. Balogun's i-W.I.S.H Program: A Beacon of Hope for Abeokuta South Residents

The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez (BOA), celebrated his 100 days in office by unveiling the i-W.I.S.H program. A  comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing the welfare of residents of the Premier Local government.


During the launch at the Local Government Secretariat, Ake; Hon. Balogun registered residents for health insurance scheme and provided them with health insurance ID cards on the spot. Additionally, he distributed cash support to Community Development Areas (CDAs) and donated solar-powered streetlights and panels to illuminate communities.

The executive chairman is leaving no stone unturned in his "everyone matters Mantra".  Residents who were present at the event expressed deep gratitude for this wonderful initiative by the man at the helms of affairs at the Local Government.

They expressed their joy and happiness, with a greater hope that with a man like Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez (BOA), lives will become better and succor will be given to the downtrodden.


The event was dignified by the presence of prominent figures, party leaders, and residents of Abeokuta South, who gathered to witness the milestone celebration.

Notably, the construction of the Abule Oloni Pedestrian Bridge stood out as a flagship project. The administration also constructed and rehabilitated over 20 boreholes, improving access to clean water in various communities. In addition, health insurance coverage was provided for commercial motorcycle riders (Okada operators) and elderly residents, further demonstrating the administration’s commitment to social welfare. Looking ahead, the council has approved and commenced the construction of a 1.3-kilometre road in Kuto, Abeokuta, as part of its ongoing infrastructure development drive.
