Abeokuta South LG Chairman Assigns Portfolios to New Supervisors and Advisers

In a move to strengthen local governance and improve community service delivery, the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez, has announced the official portfolios for the newly appointed Supervisors and Special Advisers.


This announcement follows recent appointments made by the local government, aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and delivering on the development promises of the current administration.


According to a statement issued by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Mustapha Kodaolu Olajide, all appointed officials are expected to assume their duties immediately and work closely with their respective Heads of Departments to get started.


Here’s a breakdown of the appointments:


Supervisors:

  • Engr. Abidemi Lawal – Works and Housing
  • Barr. Kehinde Ayodeji – Community Development
  • Mr. Amerinso Waheed – Information, Education, and Sports
  • Mr. Moshood Shodiya – Agriculture
  • Mr. Egunjobi Faruq – Water and Environmental Sanitation



Special Advisers:

  • Mr. Oyeleke Koyejo – Water and Environmental Sanitation
  • Mr. Semiu Muftau – Youth Affairs
  • Mrs. Balogun Jemilat – Women Affairs
  • Hon. Ogundimu Wasiu – Health



Hon. Balogun expressed confidence in the new appointees, urging them to bring innovation, dedication, and integrity to their roles. “We are building a team that reflects the aspirations of our people. Each portfolio is crucial to our progress, and I believe these individuals will help us move forward,” he said.


Residents of Abeokuta South can expect to see more structured and responsive governance as the new team gets to work in the days ahead.

In addition, health insurance coverage was provided for commercial motorcycle riders (Okada operators) and elderly residents, further demonstrating the administration’s commitment to social welfare. Looking ahead, the council has approved and commenced the construction of a 1.3-kilometre road in Kuto, Abeokuta, as part of its ongoing infrastructure development drive.
