 By Damilola Adekanlu

In a strategic move to enhance its revenue generation efforts, the Abeokuta South Local Government has commissioned a fleet of branded vehicles dedicated to revenue collection. The vehicles were officially handed over to Necad Nero, a consulting firm led by CEO Mr. Nurudeen Adenuga, to support the Local Government’s drive for increased and transparent revenue collection.

The commissioning ceremony took place at the Local Government Secretariat in Ake and was attended by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Oluranti Ogunjemilusi, who represented the Chairman. In her remarks, Hon. Ogunjemilusi described the initiative as a commendable step that will curb revenue leakages and improve accountability.

“The provision of these vehicles will strengthen our revenue systems, ensure transparency, and reduce inefficiencies,” she stated. The vehicles are visibly branded with the Local Government’s logo, making them easily recognizable during operations.

She also charged the contractor to make full use of the vehicles to meet the set objectives, expressing confidence that the residents of Abeokuta South would support the initiative.

In response, Mr. Adenuga reaffirmed Necad Nero’s commitment to maximizing revenue collection while maintaining a high standard of transparency and efficiency. He praised the Chairman’s forward-thinking leadership and trust in the company’s capacity to deliver.

“With this partnership, we’re confident that by December 31st, Abeokuta South Local Government will rank among the top revenue-generating councils in the Southwest—second only to Lagos State,” Mr. Adenuga stated.

The collaboration between Abeokuta South and Necad Nero represents a renewed commitment to strengthening the Local Government’s financial base and accelerating development projects for the benefit of its citizens. The deployment of the new vehicles marks a significant step in realizing these goals.
